The newest Novel In Progress, carrying the acronym EWFM, is well underway. Today, I reached page 74 and finally found the POV character’s internal voice. Whew! I was beginning to wonder if it would happen at all. When I wrote my JFN (Just Finished Novel with a working title of BFG), the POV character, Bascom, started speaking to me around page 9, so it was an easy fix to go back and rewrite the first few pages with more of his perspective. I’m mathematically challenged, but even I can tell that 74 pages is exponentially more rewriting than 9 pages.
My crystal ball shows a bunch of interior monologue revisions in my future.The silver lining is that the first chapter has to be completely rewritten anyway, so that’s 14 pages right there.
