Christmas Cheers

The moment of truth has come. I’ve delayed the evitable until now. It’s time to go Christmas shopping. Yes, I waited until now to start. Yes, it will be a mad rush to finish. Yes, I’ll love the thrill of the rush.

Yes, I’m procrastination incarnate.

But before I do start shopping, I’d like to pass a holiday greeting on to these folks:

To Chris Crutcher, for his support of teen’s freedom to read.
To Kelly Milner Halls for her unwavering belief and work for teens.
To the authors for taking a stand.
To for being the Goddess we all know and love and love and love.
To for her wonderful columns.
To for giving us A Room on Lorelei Street.
To for the photos.
To for the BBQ.

And to these people, I’d like to give a lump of coal:
Charles I. Ecker for banning Carolyn Mackler’s book The Earth, My Butt and Other Big Round Things.
Patti Banks for banning Brent Hartinger’s Geography Club.
Jack Singley for censoring When Jeff Comes Home by putting it on the shelf.
Steve Abrams for supporting sweeping bans on books in Kansas.
Barry Carroll for banning Chris Crutcher from speaking–after opposing the ban on his book.

Merry Christmas
Happy Hanukkah
Blessed Kwanzaa
Have a nice day

Amen.
