POLICE are trying to find out whether more than 100 gnomes which turned up overnight in a woman’s front garden were stolen – or just gnomeless.
The unusual lawn ornaments arrived in the dead of night on a path leading to a front door in Bowdens Park, Ivybridge, sometime between 9.30pm on June 1 and 1.30am on June 2.
Shocked resident Marcela Telehanicova, aged 30, was closing her curtains when she was confronted by 107 of the little gnomads, either standing or sitting three-abreast.
“I had a second look, thought ‘What is that?’” she said. “Then I realised they were little people.”
