It would've been easy to not write today. I'm ahead of quota. Lots of stuff happening. Too many distractions. None of these make the deadline go away, so I keep slogging until the quota was met. Saturdays are hard. Everyone's schedule is hinky, and errands that should take a few minutes take hours, especially on cold and wet December days. Still, if you're stubborn and are willing to write in quick snatches, you can meet your quota. Even if takes twelves from the time you started writing until you finish. Fast Draft Day 6: Back in the Groove

After yesterday's slog through INVISIBLE SUN, I was delighted to be able to sit quietly in front of my Mac and crank out the day's quota, while still enjoying the process. It was a combination of being able to keep the story in my head and being able to write a long action scene: There's nothing like moving your characters

Fast Draft Day 4: Fire

Today's writing was the fits-and-starts kind as I had to balance the weekend chores and other distractions with work time. It's a frustration that many of have shared, and really, there's nothing to be done about it except getting the minutia done so that you have time to write. Today's scenes were very action-oriented, which makes me feel better about
