Propositioning the Happy Hooker

Since Saturday, I’ve been watching Miss Snark’s Happy Hooker Crap-o-meter with the same rapt attention my daughters reserve for American Idol. The 200+ (and counting) hook submissions have offered us a fascinating glimpse into the process of parsing query letters. I’ve learned many things–presenting complex ideas in a clear form, identifying crucial story elements, and offering up intriguing stakes. I’ve also learned that I would say bingo less often than the Snarky One (whom I believe to be at least two different people, one of whom I don’t care much for).

I did submit a hook, by the way. It’s number is between 500 and 600, and it’s not a YA (I expect it to be posted a few days after Christmas, based on Snark’s rate of reading).

Anyone else give the HH COM a try?
