Lock; Key

If I had eyes of Janus —

God of beginnings and endings,

Gates and doorways,

Locks and keys,

Whose two faces looked

Forward and back

Into the past and

Off to the future —

Then I would tell you

What our future holds,

What mistakes haunt our pasts.

Being human, I can only

Be in this minute,

The moment of you.
